Black Drip Coffee for the Culture. We are an online coffee brand that also does vendor events. We want to be the brand that brings coffee with Hip hop, rap, fashion, sports, history, and the whole black culture. We want to bring quality coffee that can be across the board great and amazing. Black Drip Coffee is brewed from within a desire to bring coffee culture to historically disenfranchised and underserved communities. As entrepreneurs, there are a lot of late nights and a lot of coffee. We drink a lot of coffee, so why not start our own coffee. New to the coffee world, we wanted to get started, so I brought a roaster and ordered some green beans. Thinking the whole house would smell like coffee, I knew right away it was a huge mistake. My whole house smelled like burnt popcorn for two weeks. Through failure, I realized I needed help to get this up and running.
I searched on LinkedIn for a roaster and came across Issac Hodges, the vice president of sales at FairWave Coffee Collective, which includes the Messenger Coffee and The Roasterie brands. Our goal is to teach our communities the importance of the coffee culture. The experience gave us a deep appreciation for the work being done in the underserved communities of color and fueled our drive to help others.
Our amazing coffee is the "wake me up coffee" that you need to start your day. It brings you energy and motivation so you can grind and hustle every day. But most importantly, our coffee is for the culture.
Our whole coffee beans are roasted at Messenger Coffee Co. at 16th and Grand. They are medium roasted and are a mixed blend from Guatemala, Columbia, and Brazil. These are harvested, washed, and dried by farmers from those countries—all of whom the team at Messenger Coffee Co. had personally met.

Origin of the Beans
Quality driven farmers cultivate their coffee crop to be its best. It is their work that builds the foundation for what makes great coffee. A sincere relationship is defined not only by the end result, but also by the beginning and by everything in-between. We are committed to developing real relationships and buying coffee in a manner that is honest and ethical. By drinking coffee sourced this way, you are making a measurable impact for the producers and their families.
In the Black Drip Coffee first blend Renegade
Three of the farmers MARIO VALIENTE from FINCA COLOMBA, JULIO MELENDEZ PEREZ from Brazil Santa Ana, El Salvador and FINCA EL ZAPOTE from Acatenango, Guatemala wash and sun dry out the coffee beans in each Black Drip Coffee bag of Renegade brand. The Messenger Coffee Co medium roast these beans to its premium roasted state. Everything is local based in Kansas City, Missouri.
Brazil : Cupping notes: Chocolate, nutty, fruity aftertaste; light acidity, sweet, full body. Clean and balanced.
Columbia: A typical Central American coffee that came out of a mill in Santa Ana, El Salvador. It is from the region is the third largest coffee producer in the country.
Cupping Notes: creamy body, nutty, slight citrus
Guatemala: Sun-dried the old fashioned way at the most modern mill in Guatemala's top coffee growing region, this Antigua has good acidity with a deep, bittersweet chocolate flavor. Its great aroma and full, yet mellow-body make it a great cup that won't overpower whatever it is served with.
The aroma is rich, dark, chocolate, classic on the nose. The acidity is low to medium, and the body is full. And very balanced for every cup. The flavor is subtle, dark, mocha notes, and rich.
Together we made a wonderful blend!!
Thank you so much Bubba!
